Blogging About...

Welcome to my Blog! Prepare for a series of blogs about God-knows-what! Haha! Also expect a lot of personality and probably a fair share of sarcasm. I'm a 20 year old college student with big dreams and a lot to say, are you ready for all that entails? If you're up for the challenge, scroll down and prepare to be dazzled. ;)

New To Blogging with a Hint of Aspirations

I've never had a blog before and I'm not quite sure what I will choose to write about on here, but I do know one thing, it will be awesome. Yes, that's right awesome, because let's face it I am a pretty awesome writer. A little background about myself: I attend Rutgers University, I am a Theater and Journalism and Media Studies double major with a minor in music and possibly, depending on a couple of factors, a minor in dance. I consider myself a creative threat because I am skilled in an array of creative fields, I've also considered minoring in art but that won't do much for my Broadway Dreams. My ultimate dream in life is to sing on Broadway, preferably with a lead role! The other side to my dream is that I love to write and would also vastly enjoy working in a magazine. Because I am an actress, but more importantly a performer, many are shocked at my resistance to the broadcasting television world. However, I find that my performance is most fulfilling as a form of entertainment rather than a news medium. Don't get me wrong, I believe that the news is very important but my apprehension in relation to the news is a matter of creativity. News is a form of media that serves to inform rather than illustrate, entertain, or create. A broadcaster can not create news because they would be misleading their viewers which turn to the news for fact, magazines on the other hand have the aspects of journalism such as interviewing and researching without losing the individualism of creative writing. It is for this reason that my writing aspirations lay within the magazine world and all that it entails. I am much too liberating and spunky to give up on a world that I know would truly make me happy. Call me crazy but I will be a Broadway star who also works as freelance magazine writer. This fact assures one more thing, I belong in New York City. Luckily, my home town is about a 15 - 20 minute bus ride away and the city and I, well, we dance.
